If you want to eat fruit it is better to eat it before having a meal, than afterwards because fruit needs special enzymes from the digestive system in order to break down. Our body needs additional time to absorb all the sugars from fruit. If you tend to eat fruit after lunch you might experience acid reflux, heartburn, or burping.
On the other hand, if you consume it before a meal, you will provide your body with sugar, fiber, and other nutrients.
If you go to bed right after you have a meal you will feel bloated and you will have troubles sleeping. One study shows that those who waited for few hours to pass after they had a meal and go to bed had a lower risk of getting a stroke. Therefore, you shouldn’t eat for at least few hours before you go to sleep.
When you take a shower, the blood flow in your extremities improves. However, the blood flow in the stomach reduces drastically, which worsens the digestive tract.
Many stomach issues can occur from this habit that can turn into serious health problems later. Therefore, stop taking a shower or a bath right after you have a meal.
You shouldn’t drink tea after you have a meal because tea can interfere with the absorption of iron. Since tea contains tannic acid that binds with iron and the protein from the food we eat, the final result is a decrease in the iron absorption.
When we have low levels of iron we can have cold hands and feet, pale skin, pain in the chest, feel weak and dizzy, and become anemic.
